About Me

I took part in a pub quiz recently with some guys from work. We were awful. I think our team ended up 24th out of 25. The sad thing was we were trying really hard. It wasn't like we were mucking about. It made me realise that my interests have started to become really narrow. I think doing an MBA (2002-2004) was the tipping point as it left me with no spare time for watching TV.

The things I'm interested in these days are: strategy, management, lean-thinking and agile methods, behaviour-driven development (BDD), acceptance test-driven development (ATDD), rules engines, mock objects, Theory of Constraints, creativity techniques, Competitive Engineering (Tom Gilb's ideas), real options, systems-thinking, graphic design, and collecting business books (I have about 1,000).

I know all that probably makes me sound like a right barrel of laughs, but it makes me happy anyway. Just writing that list made me happy. :-)

Other things that are important about me:
